The idea is to produce a short 1/1:30 min music video. The video will be a simple well lit portrait. I wanted to isolate the features of the face and manipulate them in After Effects so that they move in time with a sound track.
Half way through my research I found this video, which is essentially the whole idea. Despite knowing the idea's been done I'm going to see if I can make a big difference with the execution and hopefully make something different and interesting.
`
This style of video seems to have two main differences, some are trying to be realistic and others make the editing and effects clear. I like the simplicity of making the facial movements humanly capable, I think it makes the video more delicate and less comical. I think that this is primarily what will make the final product different from the last video.
Choreography
The video is going to have to be carefully choreographed so that the facial movements will stay in time with the audio and not looked looped or jittery. To make things easier later in editing, I'm going to assign a facial movement to a sound/instrument. so I just have to match the movement to the audio. This should keep things ordered and clear for editing.
Editing
In editing I'm going to isolate the facial features so I can speed up and slow down footage to have more control of the timing of the body parts and the twitch reflex time.
